About Superman
Superman is a superhero originally from the Planet Kryptonite, who crash landed to Earth when he was a baby. He was adopted by the Kent family, given the name Clark, and grew up to be a journalist for the highly respected Daily Planet in the city of Metropolis. However, little did his colleagues know that behind those glasses and that quiet demeanour was a man of steel, with the strength of a thousand men, a gaze to cut through metal and the ability to soar into the skies in order to save humanity from its deadliest foe and his arch-enemy, Lex Luthor.
History of Superman
Superman was created by duo Jerry Siegal from America and Joe Shuster, from Canada back in 1932. In 1938 they sold the rights to their creation to DC Comics, which featured Superman in his first story shortly afterwards. Superman is often said to have been the father of the superhero genre, helping to firmly establish the comic book and graphic novel genre in American popular culture and spawning numerous other human/hero hybrids.
As for Superman himself? He has been at the heart of comic books, TV series across the world, movie film franchises and video games ever since, and was even named The Greatest Superhero of All Time by Empire Magazine in December 2006. And his successes don’t stop there, with a brand new Hollywood blockbuster movie due out in 2013 named The Man of Steel

Man of Steel
The Man of Steel is to be directed by Watchman’s Zack Snyder, who has a sterling background in directing action and science fiction films, and produced by the legendary Christopher Nolan, of the Dark Night fame. Taking the helm as the hero himself is British actor Henry Cavill, with his love interest, Lois Lane, being played by Amy Adams.
